By our backdoor, in the mudroom, sits our {stuff} container.
Inside is "stuff" like:
Keys
Sunglasses
Cell Phones
Change
Random Receipts
(Pretty much all of the "stuff" that used to junk up the counter in the mudroom...)
I found this at Hobby Lobby for about $3.50.
Ok, but not enough color...
So, I stuffed it with news paper and taped off the top. I liked the color of the inside - and I did not want to paint it...
I used my trusty Silhouette to cut out the "Stuff" and my {}'s but I only had black vinyl on hand and did not want to use black...
So, what did I do?!
I SPRAY PAINTED the vinyl!
Yep. That's right.
And it worked like a charm.
Then I gave the container a few good coats of spray paint.
Once it was COMPLETELY dry, I took off the tape and took out the news paper.
Then I added the {stuff}.
Next time you don't quite have to color vinyl you want, spray paint it!
Just make sure to let it dry REALLY well between coats and before you attempt to apply it.

How cute! Great idea (spraypainting the vinyl)!

ReplyDeleteNatalie....I was so inspired by your post that I just made a stuff box too! I actually love the brackets on yours but I cut mine too big so they will have to get re-cut and added later. If you get a minute, stop by and see it.
