Mason Jar Centerpiece

Meet my latest centerpiece on our dining room table:

A local reader found this old crate, THREE boxes full of mason jars and a TON of old shutters on the side of the road... and she thought of... ME - how freakin' sweet is that?! (Thanks Misty!) Here is a before picture of the old crate:

Of course I did what I do best and painted that bad boy, but I made sure to take the handle off first - I LOVED the old look to it and did not want to paint it. Then I placed six of the thirty (YES, t-h-i-r-t-y) mason jars in the center of the crate - AFTER I put them all in the dishwasher and ran them through a "sterilize" cycle because I am nuts like that...

I am completely obsessed with mason jars... like I dream about ways to use them at night... aren't they fun and beautiful?!

And the original handle just "makes" this centerpiece.

Pop in the last of the Hydrangeas that are actually still kind of alive in our backyard and...

besides the 1/4 can of spray paint this centerpiece is

FREE!

Just because something looks pretty doesn't mean it has to be expensive - Be creative, think outside of the box and create beauty using the things you have on hand.

...I can't wait to show you what I did with all those shutters and all of the ways I am using the other 24 mason jars!
