Now that summer is here that means it's "koozie season!" Of course I could go out and buy a cute koozie, but that is just no fun... so I made this indstead:
I had a scrap ruffle piece that was the perfect length to wrap around the top of the koozie. So I pinned it right on.
Then I stitched about 1/4 inch around the top of the koozie.
See the stitches in the middle that created the ruffle? Rip them off!
You don't have to do the next part in the driveway with an extension cord, but the kids wanted to swim and desperate times call for desparate measures, right?!
I put a dab of hot glue on the koozie...
Then slapped on a piece of scrap fabric. Make sure you lift the ruffle up and completely cover the entire front of the koozie, like this:
Repeat the last two steps a bajillion (yep, I said bajillion) times until the koozie is all covered and when you get to the bottom and a part of the fabric hangs over the edge of the koozie, its ok...
Just take your scissors and snip the pieces of fabric that hang over the edges!
Then you have a super cute koozie! (And PLEASE do the bottom too... that would soo not be cute if it weren't all scrappy like the rest of the koozie)
I love the ruffle and the scrappiness! This is definately my favorite koozie EVER!
Now I have something cute to keep my cocktails cold!

Now how cute is this? What a great way to use up all those little scraps of your favorite fabrics!
