Post Op Week 29!

Look at Cliff's new trick:

Crawling on hands and knees is HUGE for him! His PT said she thinks he will be able to crawl on his hands and knees everywhere hopefully by July! We are so proud of him!

Here is another video of Cliff walking in his walker! Isn't he getting faster?! I must warn you that he "falls" at the end, but don't all little ones fall when they are learning to walk? You will notice that Cliff's PT and I do NOT freak out and make a huge deal about it. He was not hurt or even upset and we try to minimize the anxiety of falling - it is a normal part of learning to walk.
Look at my boy walk:

Isn't that awesome?
We are so proud of Cliff and his hard work. Thank you all for your prayers, your sweet comments, your loving emails. Thank you for sharing your stories with us. Each story is so inspiring and encouraging.

Cliff will walk independently.

We are so blessed to have such an amazing support system.

God is so good to us.

  1. I'm a new follower, so Cliff's story is new to me. I spent an afternoon finding the beginning of his story and reading through all the posts of his surgery and post-ops. I cannot imagine the joy that fills your heart as you watch his progress! He's got a great smile and I'm excited for all of you as you embark on the adventures through his recovery/learning period.

  4. Aw, Natalie, that brought tears to my eyes because I know what a big thing that is for Cliff learning to crawl like that!

Sadly, after Noah's last surgery he isn't able to crawl anymore but he has adapted quickly and does a little scootie thing to get around when he isn't in his WC.

He reminded me of Noah when he asked to watch it. Noah loves to watch the videos of himself too!

  5. Way to go Cliff!! It's so great to see him crawling and working so hard with a smile on his face. I remember when Keagan was learning to crawl. It's so special to see these moments and REALLY know how much they mean. Thanks for sharing the videos. Cliff is a cutie!!

When ever Keagan falls now, she just says "I'm Ok" and keeps going. When someone else watches her fall, they get worried, but you're so right. You can't make a big deal out of it. We always just picked her up and said "You're Ok" and now she's a tough cookie.
