Dining Room Re-Do

Remember this post about our Dinning Room from forever ago?! (actually it was SO long ago that I hardly remember it... sorry about that!)

Well, I actually got around to somewhat finishing our dinning room! The green shutters will soon become a corner shelf (ahem, Ross!). Well, actually it was an old closet door that I picked up off the side of the road, gave it a good coat of green and sanded it down so the white shows through. I love the unexpected pop of color it adds to our dinning room!

See my blue shutter (side of the road find, of course!) leaning against the wall?

And my console table didn't always look like this. I found it on the side of the road too!

This is what it looked like when I found it:

Then I gave it a good coat of Killz:

And the hubs put it back together (I guess this is why it was tossed out...). Then I spray painted it yellow and put a blue glaze on top!

And ended up with this beauty:

Our Dinning Room chairs were found at Goodwill and refinished by yours truly! The table was given to us by my mother in law and I distressed it about 5 years ago... and am still smitten! It is so kid friendly! No fingerprints are ever spotted on my table!

So, there is our dinning room... FINALLY!

  3. so cute! but.... we're gonna need a closer pic of the chair cushions. I know you have not crossed over to the dark side.... dare I ask.... is that Camo???? Surely, it's just a dark/muted floral pattern.
I'm SO jealous of that console table - LOVE it! I need one of those so bad, but folks out here don't put stuff on the side of the road. :(
