I decided I wanted a menu board in our kitchen so we can plan our dinners for each week and there are no surprise runs to the grocery store for one ingredient I forgot to grab (which happens waaaay too much around here..)! I remembered I saw this super cutie Menu Board at Little Birdie Secrets and thought I would make my own JIAD style!
I began with an old frame that had a few cracks in it. Instead of filling the cracks with putty, I decided to embrace the cracks (...that sounds weird...). So after a few coats of spray paint, I brushed on my blue acrylic paint to achieve an old, weathered look (I know, I'm obsessed...).
Then I chose my fabric. I did a little "test run" to make to make sure it wasn't too busy.
I traced around the back of the frame (which was an 8 x 10), cut the fabric out and framed the fabric.
And after a little date with my Silhouette, this was sitting on our counter!
It's the perfect addition to our kitchen and totally works with my knife block!
I love that our meals are planned and now I can actually make my grocery list without forgetting any ingredients! Yay for no more last minute grocery store runs (although I must admit I will miss my quiet time... but hey, I guess occasionally I could "forget" something!)!
So, what you got cookin'?!

Love the colors, my downstairs is decorated in blues and greens. Your menu board fits right in, so cute!

I've seen some menus to put up on the wall, but I love this next to the stove! I think my hubby might actually use it if it were places like that! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletelove this! We totally rely on our menu to stay on budget, but we just use a notepad on the fridge. This is way classier :)
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteI'm Bec, visiting from Wandering Wednesdays ...
Happy to meet you!
Your blog looks great!
I'm a Christian Mama, too ...and I JUST made one of these menu boards myself a few weeks ago! (I have yet to put it on my blog though...). I like yours better though - I put burlap behind my glass - so it's a lot more plain. Love your colors!!!
Would love to have you stop over at Little Lucy Lu!
