I want to share how I made the Kindle Case for those of you who didn't win the Giveaway just because you are that awesome!
Cut two pieces of fabric 7.5 inches by 9.5 inches - these pieces will be used for the outside of the case.
Cut two pieces of fabric 7.5 inches by 9.5 inches - these pieces will be used for the inside of the case (you can use coordinating fabrics or the same fabric! Totally your choice!)
Cut two pieces of batting 7.5 inches by 9.5 inches.
Cut one strip of the fabric you want to use for your ruffle that measures 3 inches by 16 inches.
Layer the batting and inside fabric like this. Batting, Inside Fabric, Inside Fabric (right sides facing each other), Batting.
See?
Then stitch around the two long sides and one of the short sides. Make sure to back stitch at the ends. Confused? See the next picture.
Turn inside out. And it will look like this?
Now for your ruffle. Stitch down the center of your ruffle using a running stitch (longest stitch length). DO NOT back stitch.
Pull ONE of the threads to create your ruffle. You want it to be 9.5 inches long once it is all ruffled.
Stitch your ruffle down the center of one of the outside pieces of fabric.
Next place the two outside pieces of fabric with right sides facing each other:
And pin together.
Stitch around three sides. Two long and one short side making sure to back stitch at the ends.
And snip your corners!
Next slide the piece with the batting inside the outside piece with right sides of fabric touching. Like this:
Pin a rubber band in between the fabrics on the opposite side from the ruffles. Make sure less of the rubber band is sticking out (the part of the rubber band you see now will be on the inside once finished.).
Next stitch around the top of the case leaving an opening large enough to turn the case right side out. I usually leave about 1 1/2 - 2 inches open. Also, make sure to back stitch!
Then turn your case right side out! I pull the inside lining with the batting through first then the outside of the case.
You will end up with this:
Next take the inside lining (piece with the batting attached) and stick it inside of the piece with the ruffle. It should look like this:
Top stitch 1/4 inch around the top of the case.
Next add your button...
And you are done!
Now you have a super cute case to hold your Kindle!

I've got the material to make, and the idea in my head to create a Kindle cover... if mine doesn't pan out I'm totally coming over here to steal this idea!
