This week has been WONDERFUL!
Cliff seems to be feeling much, much better. He has done some major things this week too! He has been asking to do his exercises and most of the time he does them without arguing! Ross and I also did a little re-arranging in the playroom and got most of the toys up off of the floor. Cliff now has to either sit at his bench and play on his train table, or he can tall kneel at the train table and play - NO more playing on the floor! Cliff really seems to enjoy being up off of the floor! While sitting on his bench, Cliff will pull to stand at his train table all by himself! He began doing this without us asking! Ross and I just about fell over in shock! He also has begun getting into and out of tall kneeling at the train table!
Post-Op Day 21, Cliff finally sat up all by himself on the floor! AND he clapped for himself too! He could do this before the surgery, but I was worried afterwards because he would try to sit up and as soon as he was almost sitting up all the way, he would start crying and have to lay back down, so this is huge for us!
Then on Post-Op Day 22, Cliff side stepped at his PT's office to the left AND to the right! His PT and I both had to fight back tears! We have been trying to get him to do this for TWO whole years and he finally did it! I don't have pictures because I left my camera at home...
THEN on Post-Op Day 24, Cliff sat on his knees and played his drums with NO support! He has NEVER been able to sit back on his feet like this and to do it without help too, it was amazing!
Then Harper had to join in on the fun too! He played his drums and she clapped (standing and clapping is her new trick! Yay for Harper!) for about 20 minutes!
Oh yea and to top this week off, we went on a little road trip (Post-Op Day 25) and got Cliff fitted for an Ambucs AmTryke! Here he is testing one out! Cliff was so proud of himself. He was beaming with pride! His trike should arrive within the next couple of weeks! He has a little Radio Flyer, but despite our attempts to Velcro, zip tie and duck tape his feet to the pedals, he just couldn't ride it too well. With the AmTryke, He can go and by "go" I mean FAST too!
Cliff's trike will have a little blue seat (like the seat on his Radio Flyer) and a push handle that can he removed (he will not need this for long, but when we first go outside, I want to hold on to him.. He's my baby!)! He is so excited and we are too!
This week has been wonderful! We are so proud of Cliff!
Go Cliff Go!

What a merry Christmas for your family!
